i.c.stars Leadership Principles
Thank you for sharing your lessons learned as a member of i.c.stars. We appreciate your visibility and ownership of the organization and making community impact.
i.c.stars' primary goal is to develop 1,000 Community Leaders by 2020. We track how we are doing against that goal using "Leaps", or Leadership Point Stories. As a member of the social network, your "Leaps" are tracked in the form stories about community impact. The members of our network will see these stories and vote on their impact by giving each story a "plus one point". You can also write Leap stories about others by going to their page and clicking the 'add leaps' link.
The following structure is to ensure that the leadership principles of i.c.stars are passed down to the next generation of technology and community leaders. Your perspective in this process is essential.
At some point you will want to touch on the following principles in your sessions with current interns. They are the core values for i.c.stars that have resonated for generations of cycles and the future intern cycles will be looking to hear in your story how you have implemented them in your community and professional development.
• Leadership is making opportunities for others
• The art of giving gifts
• Being proactive vs. reactive
• Sacrifice vs. investment
• From the neck down we are all minimum wage, what is knowledge work
• Dare to dream
• Social, financial and intellectual capital creates status, the ability to make change
• Being one of 1000 community leaders by 2020 my place in advocacy, entrepreneurial or role model leadership tracks.
• Opportunity vs. charity
• Going through i.c.stars vs. joining i.c.stars
Thank you for making opportunities for others.
We see you.
